Rendering

Faces are image files wrapped around a solid 3d objects. The size and shape etc, are built first as in the video before and the image file is later adapted. The limitations of the rendering are really good and it is the first time that users can create their own objectswith their own rules socially in this kind of environment, there is now currently over 10M user created objects in a location 3 times the size of San Fransisco with loads of different characters.

This is a face mask that could be rendered onto a second life characters' head:

Objects

The video is a tutorial how to make objects, avatars can be a combination of objects that is why they come under the same name because they are both objects. When creating a object the user creates the shape, then adds any code or rules to the object, finishing with the rendering and release of the object into its 3d environment. However, this costs money and land is also charged. Objects are made of atoms and atoms are what build up this world.

Build tools and test scripts are available from wiki.secondlife.com: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Create_Objects (help for  the coding)

Recruiting

This is like a 'job interview':

To arrange a interview for new group members to join in creating games in second life. This means more monetary assets and networking possibilities.

Will set a time and date to arrive and see who arrives to take the place. It will be promoted as a fun thing to do with some of the game idea's mentioned before as games to play at the location when there is enough people etc.

Social Events

Go to a club - "i ♥ Majestic"
      • London to scale (beginners)
        • DJ & Music
        • Dancers & Regulars
        • Hosts & Employees
While walking round a replica version of the city of london I came across a discotecb called Majestic. As I approached I could see dancers and hear the music playing. Its when I got closer I noticed the waitresses and dancers of the club who were always talking and inviting people in. They sent me a invitation for VIP. I thought this would be a good place for us to host a event. The staff are above.

 Music concert - "........"
  • Security
    • Employed
    • Team
    • Volunteers
  • Land
    • Owned
    • Open Plan
    • Seating
    • Stage
  • Music
    • DJ
    • Streamed
    • Instruments
This idea came up not long after I had visited a gig in first life. It would be a way of advertising the artists to a wider audience and invite more people to the event.

After trying for myself, i found its hard to produce the instruments in second life and getting all the staff together to host a event like this would be difficult too. If we could pull it off it it would be fun though.

 Racing event - "........."
  • Begginers Level
  • Cars....
  • Camera People
  • Track
  • Judge
  • Racers
Like a destruction derby type event.

hide and seek
  • Players
  • Space
  • Object
  • Time
  • Weapons
In this game everybody starts off at the Object. Two teams are chosen and team 1 starts to count at the object while team 2 runs off, in groups or spread up is up to them.  After 30 seconds, team 1 have to hunt team 2 while teeam 2 try to make it back to the object safely. If team 2 stops team 1 from getting to the object they win but if any of team 1 get there they win.

I am trying to think of games that we play in first life as a social group that we can relate to second life and have some fun with. Hide and seek is agame that everyone knows and it is easy to play, no matter the age.
The problem is the landscape/map is too large and people could just fly away in one direction and never get caught.
If there wasnt a big piece of land uninhabited somewhere that everyone could find then we might start volunteering other people to play accidently.
It will be hard to remember what everyone looks like so if we write the names down at the start we can mark when they have been caught.

yes / no game

  • 2 players (at a time)
  • chat based
  • judge

The old yes/no game where you can't say yes or no. Only in text.

Musical chairs
  • chairs
  • music
  • judge
  • players

 Everybody knows this game.

The problem is how to get the chairs onto second life and making somebody delete one each round.

Wheres WALLY..

Everyone looks for one person and whoever finds them wins.
